2nd Quarter Wrap Up

Here's some of what we accomplished during the 2nd quarter of this school year:

Aaah, what a nice way to start the day.

We turned these egg shells...

... into beautiful egg geodes

The kids also made Salt Crystal Gardens.

Mr. T has been going to his poultry 4-H club meetings & in October showed his chicken at a Halloween themed event.

Capt. N worked hard with his Lego Robotics team.

 • MATH •
We played the game Equate, which is similar to scrabble except instead of spelling words you make math equations. The boys loved it.

Mr. T made Gallon Guy. Capt. N made him 2 years ago.

Among other things, Princess K has been having fun making stars.

  • MUSIC •
Mr. T has been taking violin lessons.

We went to our first symphony. Mr. T got to bring flowers on stage to the soloist.

We started our Native American history pockets book.

The first pocket is an overview of various tribes throughout North America.

Native American Picture Dictionary

Columbus Day activities

Princess K made this "spooky" banner for Halloween.

Day of the Dead sugar skulls from My Very Educated Mother & Yucca Flats.

We also played Spanish word bingo while learning about the Day of the Dead.

Over Thanksgiving we went camping with friends and let off Chinese lanterns.

We went to the Oregon Coast Aquarium over Thanksgiving weekend.

We did a bunch of Christmas activities including making advent calendars for each other.

We got our first snow of the season.

The end of the 2nd quarter marks the half way mark for this school year. Un-be-liev-able! I can't believe the year is half over.
